Last friday I went to the Liberty Science Center with a couple of friends. I havent been there since I was in elementary school! I don't think anyone doesn't know about this place, but if you don't its an interactive science musuem and learning center located in Jersey City, New Jersey. When we got there all we saw were a bunch of middle school kids with chaperones looking at the different exhibits that the center had to offer. The LSC has three themed floors: Environment, Health, and Invention. It was fun being part of the few 19-21 year olds there. The first thing we did was watch "The Human Body" in IMAX, which was very interesting. Then we checked out all the exhibits. The part that I missed most about the LSC was the touch tunnel which is no longer there. The touch tunnel was a carpeted tube through which one navigated relying on other senses rather than sight. Although, going to the Liberty Science Center is always a fun experience! Good times, Good company.

Back in September of 2009, I applied to start as an intern for FOAM Apparel. Lucky for me, I got an email back suggesting to come all the way to Teaneck, NJ for an interview.

After 9 long months, I'm still standing strong as I continually represent one of the up and coming urban clothing brands in the East Coast.

So just recently, I had the opportunity to be in charge of the Internship Program as I find the most driven, motivated and dedicated college students looking to represent this company. As of now, FOAM is currently looking for Clothing Designers and Web Developers.

As you can see, it's been awhile since a blog post was made. FOAM has been very busy rebuilding the website as well as brainstorming new ideas that can soon change the face of this company.
So what happened within the past two weeks of our non-existing blog posts?

Work hard then play hard is how we do it in FOAM. With school ending and graduation coming by, it was our honor to celebrate this prestigous moment with the new college grad, Keith.

With the vision of inspiring others through our brand and to start a movement to "Wear What Moves You", our new site brings in a new image to FOAM Apparel. Not to mention of what's to come for Summer 2010.

Last Saturday, we headed up to Mahway, NJ to help promote the 11th Annual Barrios, hosted by Ramapo College's own FASA . Full of excitement, experience and entertainment, we had the honor to be one of the vendors at this event.

Main Event Dance Competition 2010

Greetings everybody. Quick update on our trip to Rahway, NJ for the Main Event Competition hosted by Fr3sh.
As always, we are always looking to showcase our apparel in the most prolific and highly anticipated events. On our journey, we met amazing dancers, communicated with top companies/sponsors/executives and enjoyed valuable company time. To better serve our trip, we headed down to a Masil House in Fort Lee after the event to get a good taste of company success.

The tri state area experienced a devasting storm in March- many trees and plants were destroyed at parks across NYC. Spring Forward With Dating For a Cause was our chance to help clean up and beautify Seward Park located in lower Manhattan. This event was a great experience; helping the community, meetings new friends, and networking with business leaders. At least 30 people signed up for the event. The best thing about that day: the weather was amazing! To end our successful day, the after party was at Stay: Bar and Lounge. Here are some pics of the volunteer project.

FOAM Snow Day!

Because of the snow storm that hit the tri-state area on February 25th, we decided to cancel our trip to Maryland for the FIND Spring Conference which was hosted at the University of Maryland, College Park, the weekend of February 26th-28th. We hope every had a safe drive going to and coming from the conference, and hope everyone had a great experience. That friday the FOAM Family decided to have a snow day! Although it can mess up some plans, I love it when the snow gives me a day off from school and work!

One of our sales associates turned 19 last thursday, March 4th. Happy belated birthday Julius! The FOAM Fam appreciates everything you have done in helping us make FOAM Apparel become what it is today. We hope you had a great birthday!

Salsa and Meetings!

How was everybody's New Years? If you know FOAM, you know we love food. Today we had a meeting at Mad For Chicken in the city brainstorming ideas that we have for 2010. Of course we went shopping afterwards, who doesn't when they're in the city! We are also very excited for the FIND Conference coming up in February.

On the 14th of January the FOAM Fam decided hey, why dont we go to salsa classes? We love to dance whether its hip hop, ballroom, or latin dancing. Personally I love dancing to bachata, salsa, and merengue, but I do miss being in ballroom dancing competitions- anyone need a partner? lol Shout out to Spencer Nyemchek's Olympic Hopefuls =] Anyways, the classes were in Elizabeth, NJ. It was a bit of a drive for us but it was definitely worth it. Although we were seperated into different groups because of what salsa steps we knew, we still had a great time meeting new people. Dancing is one of the reasons why we move.

We also had a FOAM Apparel sighting at the dance competition Elements X '09. Whats better than Christmas? The Annual FOAM Holiday Party of course. Good food and great company is one thing that we strive for. We have accomplished a lot this year and this was a great way to celebrate our success with our team. From driving for hours to go to Virgina , to our late night sessions to get our designs out, this has been one crazy year for us. 2010 is only going to be a bigger year for us. A special thanks to Green Papaya for hosting us. We have a lot to thankful this year and one of the most important things that we are grateful for is our supporters. Sorry it took us soo long to actually update this, we have been super busy as soon as we came back from Virginia. FOAM was at Virginia Commonwealth University for FIND Dialogue. It was an amazing turnout and we definitely represented there. The 6 hour drive down there wasn't that bad(everyone mostly slept in the car the whole way down there).We made a lot of friends down there especially from Aireal Apparel and our friends from Manila Gorilla. We have been growing like crazy here, we went down with 9 people from our team. I remember when we would go to these events with just 2 people.

We also released our newest shirt "Product of Society" which hasn't hit out online store yet but will be available soon for you to purchase for your holiday shopping.

Thanks to all the support from the Virginia heads down there. We also had a little free time while we were there and we barged into some of the classrooms and gave away some free stuff from FOAM. I can tell from the reactions that they didn't mind getting hit in the face with a free shirt, lol. Some people didn't even know what hit them, lol. We are working on the video for this and will get it out as soon as possible.

Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving as we get ready for the Christmas Season. Be on the lookout for some holiday specials.

Last Saturday we attended the Heroes of Art Tour in Newark , NJ . Entertainment was provided by Taeko Carroll of ABDC’s Season 1 Fysh and Chicks and it was hosted by HOWMANY? & Heroes of Hustlers. The event consisted of crew battles, solo battles, dj battles, and musical performances. Crews included Beast Mode, members of Iconic, Status Quos R2D2, Shhh!, and Rhythm City .FOAM made it's appearance in the fashion show as well and thanks to Beast Mode for rockin our gear. Of course we attended the afterparty and partied it up with some of the crews. Special Thanks to Taeko, Beast Mode,Jay Battle from Southern Movement and Rhythm City for letting us chill with them in the VIP Section!

On September 26, 2009, Typhoon Ondoy brought a month's worth of rainfall to Metro Manila and nearby areas in just a few hours, causing severe flooding which resulted in the loss of many lives and the displacement of hundreds of thousands of people. We cannot stand still as our families and loved ones are going through an experience such as this.

FOAM Apparel is taking action and has released an emergency promotion on its whole inventory that would donate all of its profits toward the Philippine Red Cross. We dropped the"Wear what moves you" tee from our summer line up last saturday at World of Dance in Roseland Ballroom NYC and it turned out to be such a big hit we almost ran out. It is on our Online Store now for purchase.
Project D took home 2nd place this year with their amazing racing inspired set. Shout outs to Hip Hop Theory for holding it down again this year as well. Such an amazing show with America's Best Dance Crew's Beat Freaks, Ringmasters, Iconic and Boogie Bots showcasing some amazing talent. As far as crazy performances go, Ringmasters definitely take the cake on this one, when one of their guys jumped off the balcony into the crowd. These guys are Crazzzy! So many people came out and supported this event and it was big success. Til next time.

1 Year Anniversary

We have come a long way since we made our first order back in 2008. We were just a small group of people with a dream to make a clothing line to inspire people to do what moves them. The amount of hooked up cars and devilishly sexy girls is enough to make even the most timid of people show some excitement. The cars were awesome this year and so creative with cars that had an aquarium in it to some cars that and a TV's on the actual hood of the car. This is definitely an experience that will be remembered time and time again. Prelude EC & So Real Cru Weekend Recap

So Real Cru came down to Project D's studio to teach some classes and it was great seeing the turnout. Special thanks to Brian , Andrew, Pat and Ailyn for coming by , especially Brian , being that he was celebrating his birthday that weekend. So we got him a pineapple(not sure why, but why not) and we got the whole crew their very own FOAM gear so they can be FOAM Approved!

What an exciting and crazy weekend for dancers and breakdancers and everyone with a love for dance. Team Millenia has brought the east coast one of the biggest Dance Competitions and what a crazy show it was. We were constantly on our feet from seeing our own sponsored teams, Project D and Hip Hop Theory to seeing teams from Canada ripping it up on the stage.

Congrats to Rhythm city for winning first place and to Rhythmology for holding down New Jersey with 2nd place.

This past weekend was a crazy weekend and waking up at 6 am is not something that we like doing but this is one of our favorite events to go to . Thanks to everyone that came out and supported us. This was definitely one of the more hectic days. from getting up at 7am after a night of partying wasn't exactly easy to do but we mustered up all of our leftover beer muscles and made our appearance at ECAASU and Main Event Competition that day. Thanks to everyone that came out. ECAASU was a lot of fun and we were so glad to meet all of you that day. Were not that good at remembering names but we do remember faces, lol.

The Performers at this years Main Event were off the hook. Props definitely to Hip Hop Theory for holding down the FOAM Family this year and representing. Thanks to all the people that bought their FOAM Gear that day. Photos will be up soon.

FOAM Celeb sighting: Taeko from Fysh 'n Chicks

FOAM Apparel made its appearance once again this time at Dance for a Chance in Jersey City. This fundraiser was for the abused and mistreated children of the Philippines and was hosted by AASU of St. Peters College. Taeko Carroll from ABDC's Fysh 'n Chicks performed here and was spotted Reppin FOAM's very own Music Tee.
